The website ‘Secret Diners’ was created by an established English blogger whose home is the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
Our intention is not to cause offence to our dining hosts. We strive for our reviews to primarily consist of positive feedback rather than negative.
Most of us tend to give praise when it’s deserved, but we’re often uncomfortable expressing negative feedback when we feel let down. So how do we express it and avoid feeling embarrassed?
This issue was discussed among the blogging community and led to the creation of this website and the notion of secret critics.
How it Works
- After dining, the critic writes a review which is then published using the pseudonym ‘Secret Diner’.
- The ‘Secret Diner’ chooses whether to send a note to the restaurant to inform them that their establishment has been secretly reviewed.
- Our food critics remain anonymous at all times.
